JOB TITLE: Dir, Benefits-Financial Plan
JOB SUMMARY
Charter Communications is seeking an experienced leader who has demonstrated leadership with Corporate Budget and Financial Analysis Management. This position is responsible for the Company’s health and welfare qualified plans, qualified and non-qualified retirement plans in relation to the budgeting and forecasting process, business analyst and modeling, monthly financial control and reporting. The scope of responsibilities include regular budget and financial analysis reviews and presentation of findings to senior management.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare consolidated budgets for fully insured, self-insured, qualified and non-qualified plans in partnership with Financial Planning, Accounting and external Actuarial Consultants
Consolidate all benefits budgets for review. Prepare consolidated budget variance analysis and interpretation of financial results on a monthly basis
Develop standard formats, templates and models using Excel and other database / reporting tools as necessary. Work to improve budgeting/forecasting process
Prepare financial projections in partnership with Procurement to support RFP processes
Prepare monthly management financial reporting, variance reporting, cash flow tracking, and other various analyses to support the Benefits function
Assist in preparing financial modeling of initiatives, scenarios, and projects as required. Work across operating units and finance leaders to support long term plans and scenario modeling
Participate in the month-end close review, reporting variances to budget and forecast and supporting the IBNR development
Work with Accounting and Financial Planning to ensure consistent financial reporting. Create various reports to be used to analyze financial results each month
Fulfill requests from Corporate Accounting, Procurement, Finance Tax and Treasury functions as needed
Perform other related duties, as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, and suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
Solid financial management skills, including forecasting and budget planning
Keen business acumen
Strong analytic, organizational, and problem solving skills
Strong knowledge of financial planning tools and reporting systems
Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
Ability to document, prepare and present data-driven presentations
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Mature judgment and individual initiative
Ability to supervise and motivate others
Ability to use personal computer and software
Knowledge of benefit plan funding approaches and financial reportings
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
Master’s preferred
Related Work Experience Number of Years
Financial analysis, planning and reporting experience 8-10
Financial control, budget and forecasting experience 8-10
Management experience 5+
Cable industry experience preferred
