Sales Operations has 3 goals: 1) Drive salesforce productivity and effectiveness; 2) Deliver strategic insights to sales leaders to facilitate data-driven decision making and informed business management; 3) Drive a world class sales experience for our customers.
Summary of Role:
The North America HE Data VP position will sit within the Sales Operations team, with a primary focus and responsibility for providing Data Strategy, Governance and Quality Standards across Higher Ed Sales teams. The Data Lead serves as a trusted partner of all North American HE sales teams and works jointly with global teams responsible for IT, Data, Analytics and Product to improve the quality of master data and assure consistency of the NA HE systems with global standards.
Objectives:
Acts as trusted partner with all NA HE sales teams and provides guidance and innovation on HE Master Data quality, governance, process and quality.
Develops roadmap for HE data to ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to Oracle system and One CRM (including Master Data Management plan and Enterprise Data Warehouse plan).
Drives implementation of data standards across all systems and reporting, putting in place a governance process and management to ensure ongoing data quality and standards.
Transforms, leads, coaches and develops the North America Data Team.
Partners with global data and tech teams on strategic data initiatives.
Essential Job Functions:
Develops the strategy, roadmap and governance for all NA Sales data (customer, product, pricing, channel partners, etc.) in alignment with firm-wide data and technology initiatives and standards.
Manages Master Data Management and Enterprise Data Warehouse work associated with firm-wide Oracle implementation and SalesForce implementation.
Implements quality measures and rules, drives data cleanup, streamlines efforts associated with gathering data and provides processes and standards to ensure on going data quality.
Establishes a trusted relationship with and provides informed council to all stakeholders, leadership and executives
Upgrades, enhance and streamlines the work of existing teams managing product, customer, pricing, channel and reseller data.
Coaches, develops and motivates team members
Qualifications
Skills:
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Understanding NA HE business needs, challenges and expectations
Excellent Analytical Skills: Ability to think logically and abstractly, recognize discrepancies, connections and structures
Excellent Project Management Skills: Carries out project on time and of high quality with appropriate organization and planning
Focus on setting objectives and achieving results
Experienced in developing and complying with budget and resource plans
Proven ability to generate employee commitment and results
Education and Experience:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Business Computer Science
12-15+ years’ experience in relevant solution architecting and delivery, professional data management consulting or corporate data management
10+ years’ experience in leading program or project teams
Demonstrated experience with enterprise architecture, development concepts and technologies
Demonstrated experience in business model development
Understanding of business/enterprise architecture technology
Technology savvy and abreast of emerging technologies
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, etc.) a plus
Prior HE Publishing company experience preferred
Prior Big 4 consulting experience a plus
