Sr Manager, Finance and Commercial Planning - Home Entertainment
Overall Summary:
You would be joining the LA based international digital distribution team.
We work in two areas. Firstly, we manage the ‘APLA’ territory, which consists of emerging markets in Asia Pacific (China, India, Korea, SE Asia) and in Latin America (Chile, Colombia, Argentina and Peru). We work with our teams in those territories to grow our transactional business accross new release and catalog, EST and VOD.
Secondly, we also support all international digital teams in territory by helping them on projects such title availability, pricing, windowing, artwork, releasing decisions and much more.
This position will be responsible for financial oversight of the APLA territory and leading many of the projects affecting our international digital teams.
Responsibilities:
Finance Oversight
for segments of Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) territories.
• Key finance liaison for APLA Licensing territory working with IHE teams (FP&A, Actuals, Reporting)
• Responsible for all budgeting and forecasting across physical and digital business
• Assist on SGA budgeting and reconciliation
• Lead monthly review meetings of financial performance and reconciliation
• Report out to key stakeholders on financial performance and interpretation of financial entries
• Work with Sales teams to understand YTD tracking and performance
• Work with Finance and Sales Planning to create territory reports as well as customer reports to track performance
• Assist in Annual Business Plan process with APLA territories
Commercial Strategy and Support
for International Digital teams.
• Help identify internal strategies to increase revenue or reduce operational cost (e.g. VOD avails, pricing optimization, EST title counts, SKU releasing decisions, improving artwork process)
• Work with territories and Home Office to come up with recommendations to resolve issues, grow revenue or reduce costs
• Work with territories and Home Office to implement recommendations and measure performance/outcomes
• Work with territories to identify local initiatives and provide support for those territories (e.g. price testing support)
• Where appropriate, share local initiatives and best practice with other relevant territories
• Requires executive stakeholder approval and project management
Digital Reporting
: Finalize and manage monthly Global RVOD & New Media report.
• Create, edit and publish monthly global RVOD & New Media reporting covering 15+ operating territories and dozens of clients
• Create monthly readout to executives and territory leads highlighting title & country level New Release and Catalog reporting
• Finish implementation of missing territory/clients by working with SPHE & SPT IT
• Understand information flow for RVOD reporting and look to incorporate into SPHE and external systems
• Support Sales team in analysis on promotions, new release performance, price test, windowing etc
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree
• MBA preferred
• Min 4-6 years experience (entertainment, media and/or consulting experience preferred)
• Analytical ability – very comfortable working in Excel
• Financially literate – can understand a P&L and key profitability drivers
• Strong verbal and written communication - able to present to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with some overseas markets an advantage
• Self starter and solutions orientated – someone capability of spotting problems and opportunities themselves and working themselves towards a resolution
