Motion Graphics Social Editor, Vogue.com
The Senior Social Motion Graphics Designer at Vogue is an integral part of the Vogue.com social team. He/she will report directly to the Digital Director, while working closely with the Social Media Director, Entertainment Editor, and alongside all relevant departments/staff.
They will manage, conceptualize and produce the daily motion graphics needs of all social media platforms. They will be responsible for creating innovative, on-brand motion graphics, in a timely manner, reacting to both social chatter, as well as starting the conversation. They will have a keen eye for social opportunities, with a data-focused approach, while striving for growth, engagement, and fostering loyalty among audiences.
Primary Responsibilities
• Creation of social first motion graphics, including but not limited to, GIFs, animations, cinemagraphs, video and moving slideshows
• Work closely with Vogue social team daily to ensure needs are met, brand is constantly innovating, reacting to social trends and leading conversations
• Work closely with Vogue video department to ensure smooth communication, sharing of assets and identify content opportunities
• Work closely with Vogue visual and art department to ensure all assets remain on brand and are in line with editorial standards and style guides
• Ability to edit existing video into social-appropriate cuts, understanding the nuances between platforms
• Understanding of social algorithm changes, industry updates, product releases and so on, with a keen eye on new opportunities
• Strategic thinking on how motion graphics can best be served to our audiences, all while aiming for the highest reach and encouraging engagement
Additional Requirements
• A solid understanding of motion graphics, video editing and general graphic design
• Must possess varied experience, excellent visual, typography and color sense, plus have a keen awareness of current motion graphics design
• An interest in fashion, photography, and art—and a familiarity with Vogue and Vogue.com
• Must take direction well, should be detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and supportive environment – with a great attitude
• Strong communication, teamwork skills and conceptual thinking
• Must have experience in managing projects from conception to completion and come up with surprising, innovative ideas
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and inDesign), Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects
• Must be college graduate with minimum 3 years’ visual design experience, preferably in digital publishing
