The Secondary Science team is looking to hire a Senior Editor who will have content oversight of the video development and management across grades K-12, including video strategy and video content review for all Science programs.
Tasks:
• Contribute to the development of cohesive video story and strategies for K-12.
• Contribute to the development of workflows and schedules to implement video strands.
• Work with internal or external production teams to coordinate video development.
• Write and maintain Editorial guidelines for script writing and editing.
• Lead training sessions on script guidelines and requirements for writers and editors.
• Review all stages of script development to ensure adherence to guidelines and scientific accuracy.
• Review all stages of video development to ensure adherence to guidelines.
• Support the Secondary Science team in the development of non-video digital and print components such as Student and Teacher Editions, Ancillaries, Assessment, and Digital Labs and Activities, as needed.
Qualifications
The candidate must have a Science degree, at least five years of editorial experience in the industry, specifically writing and editing student and/or teacher facing materials a High School audience, and the ability to prioritize and adjust to make sure deadlines are successfully realized. The ideal candidate will have experience in the development of scripts for video production.
