Domestic Publicity Intern – Motion Picture Group, Fall 2017
The Television Brand Marketing team develops the national go-to-market strategy and optimal release plans for all television series and movies once it hits the home entertainment transactional window (physical - DVD/Blu-ray and digital - Electronic Sell Through). The group also oversees all functional areas inclusive of PR, social media, broadcast media / digital campaigns, content creation, and retail planning. The team currently consists of the VP of Shopper / TV brand and a Senior Brand Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The intern will be tasked with a high-level project to help analyze and provide recommendations on how to solve for the changes in the TV transactional marketplace.
Project / day-to-day responsibilities include: MARKETPLACE OVERVIEW / MARKET TRENDS REPORT:
• Review of current / future industry trends and analysis (where is the current business / what is the outlook)
• Deep dive competitive analysis across the physical and digital transactional TV businesses
• Competitive best practices
• Work with insights team to gather consumer insights and behavioral trends as it relates to transactional TV consumers
• Transactional impact review of competitive ways to consume television (i.e., SVOD, Stacking rights, etc)
• Pricing analysis and optimal consumer price points to maximize revenue
QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE (TECHNICAL SKILLS, EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT, INTEREST OR COURSEWORK)
• MBA student or graduate
• Passion for consumer / brand marketing
• Analytical
• Experience in Excel and PowerPoint
• Interest and knowledge in entertainment marketing and television
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter who is able to work independently but also reach out and interact with cross functional teams
SPE’s Fall Intern 2017 Program is a 12-week part-time program from September 25-December 15, 2017. All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited degree program for the entire duration of their internship and must be available for the full 12 week session.
