Facilities Intern -- Corporate, Fall 2017 Internship
Facility Operations supports the studio lot and its population by maintaining the lot’s buildings and infrastructure and providing office space and associated services (e.g., janitorial services) for lot occupants. The department also manages a number of off lot properties, both locally and globally.
Responsibilities:
The intern will be assigned to Facilities Administration which includes the Facilities Call Center, Backlot Administration and Facilities Systems.
The intern will support the implementation of mobile work management and labor tracking, assisting in process automation and optimization.
The intern will be assigned to walk specific buildings on the lot to gather or verify information such as occupancy, space configuration, building directories and signage. The intern will report on the data gathered, noting areas requiring action, and will be trained to perform some data updates.
The interns will learn about various aspects of managing a facility that is both a working production facility and a corporate headquarters, including space management, move coordination, customer service, work reception and job cost reporting. The interns will become familiar with the different types of businesses and buildings that comprise a working studio. The interns will also learn to interpret basic floor plans and understand basic space management terminology.
Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Interest or experience in analyzing and improving processes
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs and aptitude for learning new programs
SPE’s Fall Intern 2017 Program is a 12-week part-time program from September 25-December 15, 2017. All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited degree program for the entire duration of their internship and must be available for the full 12 week session.
