Social Media/Global Threat Management Intern - SEHS, Fall 2017 Internship
The Global Threat Management (GTM) section is responsible for providing SPE with actionable intelligence, threat analysis, and mitigation recommendations to ensure the safety and security of staff, assets, operations, and reputation around the world. GTM is capable of monitoring the security situation surrounding all SPE assets and productions and generating a wide range of forward looking products for decision makers within SEHS and key business partners throughout the company. GTM also heads up the travel security, journey management, and Duty of Care and is tasked with designing and developing global security guidelines for over 120 offices in 50 countries across the globe.
Responsibilities:
The GTM intern will be responsible for social media monitoring and identifying potential threats to facilities and personnel,maintaining section SharePoint data, monitoring developing trends in the greater geopolitical landscape, plotting SPE assets and productions in GIS applications and escalating security incident information to higher management. Interns are engaged in our global security monitoring processes, drafting and contributing to threat analyses products, analytical writing, and tactical social media monitoring. Interns are encouraged to think about and provide input on new and creative ways to help ensure the GTM program continues to help ensure safe and secure environments for SPE facilities, productions, travelers and employees around the globe.
Qualifications:
• Major in International Relations or Political Science preferred
• Two or more years of university completed
• Experience with social media monitoring and GIS applications
• Adept in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and SharePoint
• Proficient analytical capabilities and research aptitude
• Excellent oral, organizational and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both individually and as a team
• Strong interest in geopolitics and international relations
SPE’s Fall Intern 2017 Program is a 12-week part-time program from September 25-December 15, 2017. All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited degree program for the entire duration of their internship and must be available for the full 12 week session.
