Domestic Networks Finance Intern—Sony Pictures Television, Fall 2017 Internship
The Domestic Networks Finance team manages the financial planning and analysis, accounting , and reporting of SPT's domestic networks and production. The team consists of the VP of Finance, Sr. Finance Manager, Finance Manager, and Sr. Financial Analysts. We support the US linear channels (SMC, Cine Sony, and Get TV) , digital network (Crackle and Digital Studio), mobile games, and global support (Networks Production and Digital Infrastructure).
Responsibilities:
Intern responsibilities include the projects below, but are not limited to the following:
• Assist in the Crackle growth plan project to analyze the long term outlook of the business.
• Originals production ultimate analysis - Compare film cost ultimates against greenlight and actuals and test for impairment.
• Propose time-saving solutions for the music society fees process
• Test new financial package and upload budget and forecast for comparison and analysis
• Balance sheet and P&L variance analysis and resolution
• Create a comprehensive summary of current revenue and expense contracts
The intern will have learning opportunities in the following:
• Financial planning and analysis of relevant and growing digital businesses as well as the traditional networks and film and series production businesses.
• Accounting and reporting for an entertainment company
• How to read and interpret revenue and expense contracts.
• Develop team work, integrity, and effective communication skills
• Project management
Qualifications:
• Enrollment in an accredited college/university for the duration of the internship is required
• Major in Finance, Accountancy, or other business related programs
• Intermediate to advanced level in Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage and lead projects
SPE’s Fall Intern 2017 Program is a 12-week part-time program from September 25-December 15, 2017. All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited degree program for the entire duration of their internship and must be available for the full 12 week session.
