Current Programming Intern - Sony Pictures Television, Fall 2017 Internship
The Current Programming department is responsible for managing the day-to-day of all television shows produced by the Sony Pictures Television. The team consists of five executives, each who covers over six individual shows. The executives are in charge of guiding the script writing process, notating cuts of episodes, managing budgets, and generally shepherding the creative process from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
• Rolling calls – this is very specific way to do this for the creative community
• Note-taking on calls – exposure & experience to the conversations that occur through our show's development
• Scheduling meetings with key leaders and producers in the creative & production industries – this assists in the development of the key players and stakeholders in the industry.
• Updating status reports for all series
• In addition to this, the interns will get exposure to some of the critical meetings – development meetings, production meetings, and other creative meetings that will take them full circle through how we create great television shows.
• Interns will also take part in monthly executive lunches to meet and network with programming executives and learn about their career path in entertainment.
• Interns are also part of our Periodical Club where we brainstorm and present new ideas for television .
Qualifications:
• Enrollment in an accredited college/university for the duration of the internship is required
• Passion and focus on scripted programming
• Previous experience at an agency or production company preferred
• Interest in entertainment industry as a whole
• Good eye for creative
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
SPE’s Fall Intern 2017 Program is a 12-week part-time program from September 25-December 15, 2017. All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited degree program for the entire duration of their internship and must be available for the full 12-week session.
