Job Description
VP, Paid Media, A&E and LIFETIME, will be integral in powering forward an innovative new approach to data based media strategy & planning at A+E Networks. The position will construct paid media strategy to meet business goals & will creatively problem solve the most effective ways to use A+E assets in marketing each brand. The VP, Paid Media must be nimble & forward thinking in finding ways for both brands to grow audience; their work will drive both network performance & grow overall brand awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
The VP, Paid Media will guide overall prioritization strategy across the brands. This includes understanding business goals and marketplace nuance, along analysis of best potential audience segments, and past platform performance for maximum effectiveness. In this role, the VP, Paid Media will work with research and marketing analytics to constantly seek new data sets and evaluate whether strategy is sound.
The VP, Paid Media will also work with the media agencies & internal team to provide strong recommendations for individual paid media campaigns. In this capacity, the VP, Paid Media will own the relationship with the media agency partners & will be held responsible for inspiring & motivating the agency to produce creative, forward thinking & effective work.
The VP’s job will not end at plan recommendation; he/she will be held accountable for continuously optimizing each campaign for strongest performance possible and communicating adjustments across the marketing team and beyond. The will also need to rigorously deconstruct what worked and what didn’t in conjunction with the marketing analytics team.
Finally, the VP will help drive overall education around the media marketplace and analytics and targeting advances within the marketing team and the company. This individual will be seen as a key specialist within the building, informing macro strategy.
Qualification Requirements
The VP must have at least 10+ years experience in paid media, be a strategic thought leader with industry knowledge and have a passion for content. This individual must be both hard working, and relentlessly positive around the tasks at hand.
Data Savvy.With a consistent stream of new data sets & means of tracking audience in the marketplace, this individual must feel a passion for how to analyze data and put it to practical use. They must have strong working knowledge of new or innovative measurement practices.
Communication.The ability to effectively communicate is imperative for this position. This individual must have the ability to put together a focused and clear story as well as the ability to deconstruct complex ideas & data into simple terms.
Team Management.The expectation is that the VP will pro-actively manage a team of 2-3 and work to develop talent within that team. It is also expected that this individual, will work cooperatively with internal marketing teams (social, brand creative, on air promos) and external teams to develop best possible work on brand.
