HarperCollins 360 is seeking a Manager, Sales and Digital Operations, to join the New York-based team of HarperCollins’ global publishing program, publishing a select group of titles from HarperCollins affiliates in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India into the US marketplace. Responsibilities:
The Manager is responsible for managing print and digital pub schedules, the flow of metadata and title information from the international HC affiliate businesses into the HCUS systems, and liaising with affiliate offices to ensure timely ordering and maintenance of inventory for frontlist and backlist titles; supporting the US sales, marketing and publicity functions with sales and marketing materials and information; and managing the ebook publishing systems including setting low price promotions and pitching merchandising to achieve agreed priorities; and general support to the Affiliate Publisher as needed to reach the goals of HarperCollins 360. In this role, you will:
• Work with our international affiliates’ Editorial, Inventory, Production, Digital, and Warehouse departments to create and track workable schedules that support Sales deadlines and ensure timely delivery of titles to market
• Utilize a title management system to track and maintain book data and schedules
• Liaise with international imprints on their ebook priorities and set quarterly low price promotions to support their goals and work with US sales on gaining key merchandising slots with major e-tailers and low price aggregators like Bookbub
• Track international shipments to ensure timely arrival in US warehouse
• Manage materials required for Sales and marketing, including ensuring books are cataloged and galleys and egalleys are available as applicable
Qualifications:
• 3+ years’ experience in inventory management, managing editorial or production within a publishing house; international and digital experience a plus
• Excellent communication, organizational and follow-up skills and attention to detail
• Proven ability to create and manage schedules, track multiple projects, and meet dates in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of the MS Office Suite, with special emphasis on Excel and Filemaker Pro
• Ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically across international departments with strong interpersonal skills
• Interest in international publishing
• College-level understanding and use of the English language
• A college degree (BA or equivalent) or equivalent work experience
