The Associate Director of Experiences concepts, proposes and manages signature programs and events for Bon Appétit and Epicurious (The Food Innovation Group) that meet the needs of our brands and our advertising partners in order to build brand awareness and generate revenue. This position develops and manages new experiential marketing opportunities that engage both advertisers and consumers.
In addition, the Associate Director of Experiences manages all internal FIG events and explores innovative ways to leverage FIG’s brands to cultivate new opportunities and grow a sustainable events portfolio.
This person should be an innovative brand marketer with a minimum of 4+ years experience in experiential marketing or other highly relevant field. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of event production, contract negotiations and key contacts in the food/restaurant industry. In addition, an understanding of the overall media landscape and digital, print and social media platforms is important.
The Associate Director of Experiences should be a team player with a ‘client services’ orientation who will work effectively with the management team, sales, creative services and brand marketing departments. Excellent project management, creative ideas, and organizational abilities are essential, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Special Events
• Plan and execute a range of events on behalf of the Food Innovation Group advertisers including signature programs, VIP events
• Execute client entertaining events, such as private dinners, cocktail parties and editorial mixers
• Execute internal events, such as national sales meetings, holiday party, staff celebrations/occasions
• Assist in the execution of other marketing, brand and editorial events as needed
• Maintain invite lists and manage RSVPs for client and signature events
• Lead the development of Bon Appétit and Epicurious platforms, pillar programs & signature events
Partnerships
• Develop strategic partnerships, resulting in a FIG “rolodex” of creative minds and partnership opportunities across all platforms including event, print, digital and social media, in addition to compiling the best new and established locations, caterers & vendors in all markets
• Send monthly venue/event updates to staff
• Assist with the content development and execution of signature programs
• Manage Event Calendar and circulate as needed
• Draft program templates for use by the Integrated Marketing team – including specific concepts for advertisers
• Draft letters of agreement and craft the terms of each partnership
• Estimate and manage budgets for all proposed programs
• Contribute to brainstorming and idea generating for advertisers
Event Recaps
• Produce all event recaps with the Creative Services department
• Assist in compiling testimonials for marketing and sales
Requirements:
