We are seeking a Marketing Manager to serve as the liaison to our various and wide variety of client publishers on Academic Marketing initiatives. Some of the publishers on our impressive roster of clients include National Geographic, Beacon Press, Verso, Prometheus, and New York Review Books.
Specifically, the Marketing Manager will oversee the development and implementation of marketing plans and initiatives for the client publishers, as well as tracking and managing all related projects and assisting with promotions.
Other responsibilities include:
1. Maintaining regular and productive communication with the clients on marketing initiatives.
2. Attending client publisher launch meetings.
3. Supporting supervisor on First-Year Experience® outreach and planning.
4. Working on other department projects such as planning events or account research, as needed.
Please apply if you meet the following qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of marketing experience required, with a strong knowledge and understanding of the academic market
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations
• Prior publishing experience is strongly preferred
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow up skills
• Proactive, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work effectively with employees across all levels within an organization
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel domestically via car, train, and/or plane up 3-6 times per year
