We are seeking a full-time Human Resources Intern to support the Human Resources team at our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Human Resources (HR) Lobby Receptionists, Recruiting Coordinators, Recruiters, Generalist and Managers in various capacities while gaining experience that one can apply directly to future career opportunities within the HR field. Other responsibilities will include:
• Greet visitors and customers and record visitors in the lobby management system, , assisting sales vendors, candidates and business partners, accepting packages from couriers, and dispatching packages from the lobby to approved departments
• Schedule meetings including conference room scheduling using Microsoft Outlook and provide meeting room set-up for luncheons and meetings, ensuring conference rooms remain organized, clean and stocked with appropriate condiments and refreshments
• Assist with purchase of lobby and conference room supplies including office supplies refreshments (soda, coffee) and condiments and maintain records of purchase
• Assist in HR departmental administrative functions including record keeping and filing, preparation of internal and external documents and support Administration and Human Resources departments
• Assist with coordination of interview scheduling and travel coordination for candidates seeking employment with Garmin and its subsidiaries
• Assist Recruiting Coordinators with providing candidates with information regarding interview, travel and schedule details Learn how to screen candidates, process applications, scan, and attach candidate information in Garmin’s candidate tracking system (Taleo) and submit that information to the appropriate recruiter
• Assist recruiters with ensuring that candidate related notes from recruiters and managers are attached to the candidate’s application/profile and candidate status is appropriately updated in Taleo
• Maintain and update job postings internally and externally as requested by the recruiters, including maintenance of the document detailing all Garmin job opportunities
• Perform administrative duties such as correspondence, reports, forms and letters, filing, typing, copying, and faxing
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have current enrollment in a Bachelor Degree program in Human Resources or a related field of study with strong academics (Min. 3.0 GPA). They must possess previous administrative experience with demonstrated advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Other requirements include:
• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
• Detail-oriented, organized and have the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving and get it done attitude
• Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
• Must demonstrate professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
Previous HR experience is highly preferred!
