Strategic Partnerships Director

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Structuring and negotiating large, complex, enterprise deals in the education industry, spanning K-12, Higher Education, and Corporate/Government Education
• Qualifying and structuring creative and compelling software/services deals which achieve customer objectives and optimize revenue growth
• Being adept at reading competitive situations, identifying impending events, recommending and executing a winning strategy which deliver customer value and drives to a specific close date
• Establishing credibility with account executives to maximize existing opportunities and create new ones, leveraging executive relationships
• Establishing plans, systems, structures, and metrics to analyze and track all activities for a diverse stakeholder group – sales, product, strategy, etc.
• Effectively working the internal Blackboard Matrix: Pricing, Accounting, Legal to advance the deal with no adverse impact to revenue recognition or business controls
• Championing Blackboard’s vision with partners and representing Blackboard’s key strategic priorities in select industry events and opportunities
• Being highly collaborative. Able to work cross functionally to identify opportunities, generate buy in, and execute on jointly defined action and project plans. Willingness to challenge the status quo to drive significant increases in high-margin, recurring revenue
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Minimum of a Bachelor degree and 7+ years’ experience in sales and/or management consulting with proven result
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a client facing role
• Experience presenting and negotiating at C-suite level
• Experience building financial models and creating/presenting compelling value propositions (analytic mindset)
• Able to travel up to 25% annually
• Fluency in written and spoken English
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• MBA
• Software sales experience
• Understanding of Software licensing / contracting / procurement processes
• Ability to speak other languages
