POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shift Engineer is responsible to perform maintenance and operations of systems, devices, peripherals, units, HVAC equipment or any other integral component of such, and any plumbing work as it relates to standard practices common to the trade. This is a Local 30 union position, reporting directly to management / Director of Engineering.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have a COF issued by the FDNY for Refrigeration Engineer, Q-01 or equivalent
A minimum of 1 years of experience as Watch/ Shift Engineer with hands on experience in pumps, motors, air handlers, chillers, boilers, control systems, and BMS interface.
Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum 2 year Associates degree or a combination of trade certificates issued by accredited technical institutions specializing in Electricity, Plumbing, and HVAC. Special considerations provided to candidates with Bachelor’s degree.
It will be a plus to have specific experience as it relates to an 18,000+ seat sports and entertainment facility; Knowledge and previous experience working with NBA, NHL/AHL, NCAA (hockey and basketball), FELD Entertainment, AEG Live, Live Nation and other concert and family show promoters.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays when necessary, and most importantly of all – Must have a Positive attitude and be willing to contribute and learn at all times.
The ability to demonstrate dependability and reliability by being punctual, working assigned and varying shifts and completing responsibilities in a timely manner are required.
Must have the ability to stand, sit, crouch and bend throughout the course of daily activities.
Ability to work in various climates based on the environment.
Must have the legal right to work in the US.
Must have the ability to read, write, and understand English in a working environment.
Ability to adapt and work effectively in various parts of the facility.

Must submit to a criminal background check, employment check and pass a drug test prior to employment.
Must pass a written assessment test once considered for the job, and must be able to demonstrate within a 90-day probation period that he/she is capable of carrying out the duties entrusted in this job in order to become a permanent employee with a fixed dedicated shift, after this probation time.
