About the jobThe right person will be a high performing Programme Manager with extensive experience leading large scale transformation programmes that successfully combine marketing and technology skills to drive digital change. Experience with Design, Content and eCommerce projects is a significant plus.We are looking for someone who can bring passion for successful program delivery, gravitas and thought leadership to cross-functional teams.This is a unique opportunity for a program manager to directly enhance the lives of millions, by supporting the provision of education on a global scale.The program manager will report into the Project Lead and drive a cross-functional program across marketing and technology.
Key Responsibilities
• Ownership of the consolidated project plan, risks and issues for all projects within the program portfolio
• Ownership of the consolidated dependencies, risks, issues and actions logs, with support from PMO Project Manager
• Ownership of programme budget and finances in line with Pearson processes, with support from Pearson’s central finance function and PMO Project Managers
• Facilitate the scrum of scrums across all program projects
• Ensure the PMO CIO governance is adhered to for process and audit requirements
• Line manager of a team of up to 5 project managers
• Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected projects
• Decide on suitable strategies and objectives
• Coordinate cross-project activities
• Actively drive delivery and dependencies to meet deadlines, budgets and activities
• Effectively apply change, risk and resource management
• Oversee relationship and financial processes with vendors
• Coordinate with the Legal team for program related contracts, vendor management and project delivery
• Assess program performance and aim to maximize ROI
• Resolve projects’ higher scope issues
• Prepare reports for program directors
Qualifications
Skills & Abilities
• Experience managing multi-£M programmes with multiple concurrent projects
• Financial tracking, monitoring and control
• Consolidated plan management
• Proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position
• Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
• Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
• Excellent knowledge of office suite type software; working knowledge of program/project management software
• Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
• Experience working in an Agile / Kanban environment.
• Experience coaching and mentoring technology talent.

• This role is based in Pearson’s central London office on 80 Strand, London
• There are no requirements for regular or frequent travel
