Job Description:
The Director, Media Planning and Pricing will oversee the Media Pricing and Planning team in order to shape and execute digital and print pricing and planning strategy across all Dow Jones brands.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee all sales pricing, planning and inventory management for digital and print advertising across all Dow Jones brands; this includes both top tier pricing for complex solutions through collaboration with other Dow Jones engines and also simple quick pricing for basic media sales
• Evaluate and adjust existing sales operations strategies and policies to meet changing digital, print, and programmatic advertising technologies and services
• Support and provide feedback on existing standard operating procedures including order management, CRM, inventory management and billing
• Ensure timely and accurate guidance across numerous requests to support digital and print advertising campaigns. Expected requests to include inquiries regarding availability, forecasting, valuations and campaign management.
• Perform industry research and analysis on competition and market environment for new initiatives in order to create and implement a detailed and actionable plan to include performing market, financial, risk, and pricing analysis
• Lead a global team of pricing and planning staff, overseeing performance management and employee development, while looking to build upon economies of scale
REQUIREMENTS:
• 7+ years working within an online advertising operations or agency planning team
• Experience managing a large team, setting performance goals, and monitoring performance
• Expertise in one or more internet ad serving system and order management systems
• Expert level Excel modeling experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced environment while managing multiple projects and tight deadlines
• Strong analytical, strategic and creative problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in person, over email and on the phone
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Detail oriented and highly motivated
• BA/BS College degree required
