The T&P Director, Program Management is responsible for defining program schedules by facilitating cross-functional teams at both National and Field locations on all items related to the successful development, test and launch of the assigned program.
The successful candidate will be able to work with cross-functional team members to identify tasks, build and manage program plans, identify, assign and commit functional resources to meet commitments, develop risk and communication plans, and coordinate with external vendors and organizations as required. This role will work with external groups, Comcast divisional and regional representatives,
System technical personnel and deployment resources to coordinate the scheduling of deployments and subsequent updates of related technology. Close coordination with the appropriate Product & Business leads and the designated deployment leads will be required to ensure alignment between the technical, product and field teams on schedule commitments.
This position will also supervise more junior program delivery management resources if assigned.
This position requires a strong program management background including demonstrated experience with highly complex, multi-year phased initiatives and ideal candidates will be experienced with agile development and deployment. A proven track record in delivery execution under aggressive schedule demands and competing priorities is a must as are strong communication, collaboration and leadership skills. Product management, cable industry and business analytics experience are a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
• Function as a Program Manager/Portfolio Lead for T&P Infrastructure Programs as assigned to include development & test phases as well as facilitation of trials and deployment planning as necessary.
• Function as a SME on designated programs by ensuring understanding of technology components and customer experience impacts.
• Facilitate delivery of designated programs by ensuring all teams clearly understand scope and objectives, key milestones, measurements of success and expected delivery timelines.
• Lead by ensuring accountability of teams to the program and escalating timely and appropriately when there are issues.
• Provide leadership to other resources as assigned and support all existing communication forums as needed as well as proactively suggest & implement new forums as appropriate.
• Provide program management leadership and expertise. Serve as the source of truth on GA commitments.
• Manage the program and team through the deliverables associated with the program by establishing milestones and monitoring adherence to plans and schedules by holding leads accountable as appropriate.
• Identify project risks and mitigation plans as appropriate and drive mitigation solutions to completion.
• Communicate with key stakeholders including development teams, operations, product and Sr. Leadership as required.
• Manage Program budgets as assigned.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience such as Program Management, Release Management, Engineering, Operations and including direct people management and leading cross-functional organizations in a complex, technical environment
• 5+ years of related industry experience preferred
• Understanding of and experience with the full hardware & software development lifecycles, including functional and technical specifications, implementation, QA processes, deployment and maintenance.
• Experience with release management in an Agile environment.
• Strong technical program management experience with a focus on Agile development methodology and experience with Agile support tools a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to message Executive team appropriately.
• Excellent meeting facilitation, planning and management skills required
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Keen attention to detail and high level of commitment.
• Proven track record of collaboration with product owners
• Excellent MS Project and/or other PM tools, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
• This position will be located at Comcast's offices in Philadelphia, PA.
• Position requires travel.
