USA TODAY NETWORK is looking for a versatile Digital Video Producer with 2-5 years experience in
producing and hosting digital-first content. Candidates should be passionate about creating smart, sharable sports videos that go beyond the scores. The Digital Video Producer will also be able to contribute to news and features stories as required.
She/he should be able to conduct research, write engaging video scripts, be comfortable in front of the camera and have experience booking guests.
She/he will work collaboratively with writers and editors at USA TODAY’s headquarters and throughout the NETWORK to coordinate sports coverage for digital video content that aligns with the NETWORK’s editorial standards and ethics.
Experience shooting on DSLR cameras, editing on non-linear systems, and familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
He/she should be familiar with using metrics to inform story selection and to further the evolution of various video franchises and series.
The right candidate will be aproblem solver with a smile and be eager to create content that will have
impact with readers on a variety of platforms including social and mobile.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of excellent breaking-news judgment in trending sports coverage and innovative approaches to visual storytelling. Additionally, the candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and have the ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects.
She/he is available to work a varied schedule that may include night and weekend shifts in a fast-paced news production environment. Some travel may be necessary, and candidate must be willing to appear on camera.
