The senior graphic designer is responsible for conceptualization and implementation of web, social and print design solutions that meet marketing strategies from concept to completion. This individual is a best-practice and service standards expert who possesses authority in decision-making and mentors graphic and associate graphic designers to promote quality design and influence creative innovation. This position requires a highly specialized knowledge of methods and techniques of graphic design and layout, and the candidate should demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite and a solid foundation of printing procedures, photography, illustration, and web design. This position requires superior organizational, project management, strategy and communication skills. The scope of work flows between designing for new business and special projects and reviewing others’ work and providing direction.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is able to build and foster relationships, as well as mentor internal team members through active communication. This individual represents the design department in meetings and collaborates with members of other departments in an effort to elevate the brands of our Academic Partners. The candidate must be able to coordinate and manage multiple, varied projects that may range from a single day to many months. The candidate also should possess basic HTML/CSS skills with proficiency for lower-level coding projects. The candidate also should understand Web trends and technologies.
Responsibilities:
• Design websites, landing pages, web forms, emails, social media graphics, and a variety of marketing print assets that align with marketing requirements
• Adhere to QA procedures and team development best practices
• Mentor graphic and associate designers to promote quality design, influence innovation and
promote productivity
• Collaborate with web developers and copywriters to elevate design and functionality
• Work as a liaison with external vendors
• Work effectively within Agile/Scrum environment
Qualifications
• Minimum 5-7 years related design experience
• Highly proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite
• Highly specialized knowledge of methods and techniques of graphic design layout
• Possesses authority in decision-making
• Experience proofing marketing assets and providing concrete direction
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong understanding of color theory and typography
• Experience working within and maintaining client identity standards across channels
• Understanding of web design with regard to optimization and mobile responsiveness
• Understanding of SEO best practices
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly detail-oriented
