Everyone from artists, writers, designers, media buyers, event coordinators, video producers/editors and public relations specialists work together to bring campaigns and product-centric promotions to life. We are seeking a full-time Digital Art Director at our world headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you will provide strategically-focused creative solutions for a wide variety of moderately complex digital advertising projects. Work with business partners, creatives and technical implementation teams to guide the visual direction of campaigns. Contribute to improving processes, standards and guidelines. Other essential functions include:
• Develop and visualize multiple concepts for moderately complex digital projects or campaigns
• Work with appropriate teammates and business partners to identify and define project parameters
• Finalize concepts into finished comps for presentation, reviews and approvals
• Source appropriate resources to supply finished goods. Define and provide specifications for production and obtain documented cost estimates for processing and approval
• Provide direction on photo and video shoots pertaining to the needs of a project
• Can carry projects from concept/design to production
• Works closely with front-end and back-end programmers to maintain and see projects through
• Collaborates and adds value in creative reviews
• Contributes to improving processes, standards and guidelines
• Applies a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities
• Works well with teams producing integrated advertising work
• Works collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates
• Applies Garmin's Mission, Vision, Values & Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibits a desire to see Garmin succeed

Qualifications
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four year college or university AND a minimum of 5 years work experience performing a substantially similar role OR a Master’s Degree AND a minimum of 3 years work experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description. Other requirements include:
• Outstanding academic qualifications
• Must possess a minimum of 5 years experience in a graphic design studio or advertising ad agency environment
• Proficient Mac OS computer skills utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator and HTML/CSS/Javascript tools
• A portfolio demonstrating exceptional understanding and use of concept, design and UX in the digital space
• Must be current on digital trends and can effectively use them in the conceptual process
• Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution experience
• Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
• Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others
• Demonstrates effective time management, organizational and follow-up skills with a keen attention to detail and quality
Candidates with a College degree in Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Advertising or related field preferred or equivalent experience are preferred.
