Vice President, Velocity
Overview and Responsibilities

Velocity Culture & Creative Insights is looking for an entrepreneurial, experienced Vice President to lead projects for external and internal partners. Nestled within Viacom’s marketing and creative content team, VCCI is responsible for unearthing insights about different audiences and the cultural context in which they exist. To support this objective, ideal candidates should be passionate about youth culture and the advertising industry, experienced in the art and science of research and IP development, and able to apply consumer and cultural insights to shape creative work. The Vice President will oversee various projects for VCCI, potentially including the development of marketing strategies, product and service innovations, insights and trends reports, and creative briefs, concepts, communications and experiences.
Basic Qualifications
• Lead cross-disciplinary working teams dedicated to developing specific project deliverables
• Work closely with research team to develop new IP topics, design of studies, narratives of new findings, and the final presentation/experience of new IP
• Lead, cultivate, and manage client relationships through development and execution of projects, including presentation of interim and final deliverables
• Drive thought-leadership, including development of original IP, synthesis of research, audits of industry and business thinking, and cultural news to formulate new products for Scratch
• Support business development and engagement launches
• Collaborate with partners across Velocity and Viacom’s portfolio of brands to develop and present deliverables
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, materials production, event planning, etc.
Additional Qualifications
• 10+ yrs. in consulting, strategy, research, marketing/advertising (account management or brand planning), brand management, media and/or tech preferred
• 5+ years management of small or large teams
• An interest and ability to help junior team members learn and grow their skill sets
• Proven ability to shepherd projects from start to finish
• Drive for transformational, pioneering cultural work
• Strategic and analytical thinker with excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
• Flexibility, initiative, appetite for entrepreneurial environment and appreciation for various corporate cultures
• Strong interpersonal, relationship-development and leadership skills
• Strong connection to and passion for culture and cross-disciplinary thinking
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Willing to travel
