CFER Research Assistant Intern
Job Description:

Amplify works with educators across the country - and about 2 million students - on early literacy development.
We’re looking for a Research Assistant (intern) who is passionate about education to join our team. The candidate will work with a cross-disciplinary project team in a fast-paced environment, in particular with our R&D and content experts, to investigate literacy topics in support of the build out of an early literacy app. Projects will include identification and review of background literature, management of existing research documents and materials, and may also include involvement in playtesting newly developed games with individual or small groups of students and related administrative tasks.
This (paid) internship is for four months, with the potential to extend more deeply into the 2017-2018 academic year.
Responsibilities of the Research Assistant Intern:
• Conducting literature reviews
• Writing summaries and literature reviews
• Supporting management, data collection, and analysis of playtesting studies
• Ad hoc support for other research and analytics activities such as data management in excel
Qualifications of the Research Assistant Intern:
• Currently pursuing a four-year Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s Degree) in Education, Psychology, or a related field
• Previous experience with data collection, analysis, and management of research studies
• Proficiency with spreadsheet software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical thinking skills
• Flexibility and collaborative skills
• (Preferred) experience with quantitative data analysis
• (Preferred) experience working with elementary school aged children (as a teacher, counselor, caregiver, etc.)
