Scheduler, Digital Village
Job Introduction
We are seeking a scheduler to join the team in the Digital Village in Bristol.
Role Responsibility
To manage, schedule and bill for post production bookings across a wide range of output within BBC Studios, Bristol, maintaining strong relationships with production team members, craft editors and external facilities.
Responsibilities
• To be the key liaison point between production team members , Digital Village staff and external post production facilities concerning all stages of the post process.
• To ensure the most cost effective options are taken in the utilisation of staff and kit whilst working with production to support the implementation of appropriate work flows.
• To work closely with the Production Management community, monitoring costs and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• To monitor and report project progress and supply breakdowns of predicted and actual costs and activities to Production Managers as required.
• To establish and maintain effective relationships with key freelance craft staff as well as BBC production teams.
• To collate charging information across DV working areas so that charges can be posted to production budgets on a monthly basis.
• To support the DV production manager with collation of financial information, utilisation reporting and staff leave scheduling as required.
The Ideal Candidate
• A level of technical understanding is required to enable the most efficient scheduling of staff and kit.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work across multiple projects and to prioritise when under pressure.
• Ability to remain confident and assured in circumstances where there are complex issues or conflicting requirements
• A creative approach to problem resolution.
• Flexible team-based approach.
• Previous experience of post-production scheduling and knowledge of scheduling systems desirable.
