Overall Summary:
The Data Analyst, Revenue Operations will work closely with the Sales, Account Services, Ad Solutions, and Finance teams by helping develop and grow Crackle and PlayStation’s advertising businesses across connected TV, mobile/tablet and online platforms. This individual will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors in managing revenue operations functions for both the direct sales and remnant channels. The Data Analyst will analyze and manage sales requests, generate regular and ad hoc reports, help drive inventory forecasting at both portfolio and campaign levels, and perform ongoing analysis of inventory capacity and utilization.
The position requires an analytical thinker who will take a quantitative approach to solving complex business scenarios created by video and advertising industry trends, pricing, seasonality and inventory forecasting and fulfillment. As such, this individual must be able to extract guidelines for the business through sound research, data, modeling and analysis. It is essential that this individual be organized, detail-oriented and knowledgeable of data analysis tools as well as digital media systems. The ability to calmly and effectively juggle multiple projects at any given time is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
• Support yield management decisions and optimization that consider pricing, forecasting, seasonality, fill rates, targeting, geo-targeting, upfronts, ad networks/ad exchanges, etc.
• Create and manage weekly sales pipeline reports for senior management
• Track and analyze historical inventory utilization for creating forward-looking sell-through models and forecasts
• Develop forward looking models to help analyze network operations
• Generate weekly reports to monitor campaign delivery and identify revenue at risk
• Work with Account Services to review inventory forecasts to support media plan creation
• Assist with monthly flash, close and reconciliation processes with Finance by pulling data from both 1st party and 3rd party delivery tools
• Update Reporting Master with inventory capacity actuals on monthly basis
• Escalate revenue impacting inventory management issues
• Complete ad hoc analysis as needed
Qualifications:
• B.S. in Statistics, Math, Economics, Accounting, Finance or other relevant discipline
• Strong modeling and data analysis experience required
• Minimum experience of 1 years in the digital advertising inventory management, yield optimization or related fields
• Ability to use Excel, Access: pivot tables and large bodies of structured and unstructured data
• Ability to access, manipulate, analyze, trend and interpret data
• Understanding of forecasting methodologies, and database orientation
• Proficiency building complex models with a variety of data sets
• Desire to learn and build “out of the box” and sophisticated data, analytic and reporting toolsets, as proactive and reactive solutions to business problems
• Ability to develop and implement structured solutions for unstructured problems
• Interest in negotiating and reviewing ad network/ad exchange contracts
• Interest with media planning and ad serving systems, financial planning & analysis systems, billing systems, and yield management systems
• Awareness of industry monetization and competitive trends in video and digital sales industries
• Ability to work with various internal teams to support recommendations
• Detail oriented and able to operate calmly and smoothly with rigor and discipline
• Able to adapt, evolve and grow with the business
