TITLE: Manager, Social Marketing & Audience Development
OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
You know about new Instagram features before they are rolled out. You spend (what some would call) an alarming amount of time nerding out over Internet culture. You love asking the question, “Why?” and digging into social data to understand community trends, behaviors and opportunities. You like process, but you’re a do-er, not afraid to roll up your sleeves and leverage your strategic thinking to further drive
the passionate communities you’ve helped build. Brainstorms and editorial calendaring are your jam. You can easily articulate the difference between strategy and tactics but are equally capable and willing to dig in on both. You are excited to be the lynchpin in a tightknit team. AMC seeks a Manager, Social Marketing & Audience Development to develop robust, objective-based, seasonal strategies for key AMC shows in tight coordination with the overall marketing strategy. The Social Marketing Manager will own the social marketing process from top to bottom and will work within the marketing team and cross-functional group (PR, Creative, Analytics, Digital, etc) to distill audience insights, oversee creative development and ultimately execution of day-to-day social programs
and tactics that are benchmarked and KPI-driven. In addition to show-related work, the Social Marketing Manager will work with their Director to circulate information about cultural, marketing and platform trends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Social Strategy -- Develop multi-platform social strategies for AMC properties, including dark periods.
• With the Director of Social Marketing, manage creative and media partners ensuring we are delivering best-in-class creative and social media plans for each show.
• Work hand in hand with social team – Director, content producers and coordinators to ensure all social tactics ladder up to show strategy this often includes; social stunts, influencer programs and ongoing micro-content.
• Community Management -- Understand what kind of branded content resonates with audiences and why. Then be able to execute on those insights.
◦ Establish/maintain the show’s voice across all social platforms/initiatives
◦ Develop monthly content calendars and collaborate on creative briefs for social
producers, art directors, and copywriters.
◦ Post social media content on appropriate social channels per social strategy.
◦ Monitor trends and sentiment to determine what community is talking about and feed
that conversation.
• Use social analytics to assess efficacy of message, audience and platform. Work with directors and analytics team to optimize strategy per real-time performance, A/B testing, and market research.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 4+ years of experience developing and executing social strategy work at an agency or in-house marketing department.
• Passionate – Passion for and understanding of social media. It is an essential part of your life across a range of platforms.
• Collaborative -- This position will be a part of a fully integrated brand marketing pod, so ability and desire to thrive in a team environment is a must. At the same time, high level of comfort working autonomously on select pieces of projects.
• Creative Experience -- Working with creative teams and agency partners to develop best-in-class, and award-winning work.
• Commitment to Excellence — Working nonstandard hours when necessary, anticipating issues and communicating with diplomacy, identifying emerging platforms and trends to drive innovation.
• Community Management – Experience leading passionate brand communities. Understanding what kind of content resonates and why.
• Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills with an incredible eye for detail.
• Calm, Cool, Collected. – Used to reacting in real time to changing dynamics, moving with urgency and purpose.
• Platform Experience -- Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc. Including native as well as paid ad products.
• Data Driven -- Comfortable working with data and data analysts to identify threats and
opportunities in social.
• Social Tools – Experience including but not limited to native as well as third party tools -- Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, Netbase, Crimson Hexagon, Spredfast, etc.
• Detail Oriented -- Attention to detail, good organization, and dependability.
• Problem Solver who gets things done.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
