We’re looking for a Digital Brand and Design Lead to join our growing global UX team at Springer Nature. The job is based in Kings Cross, London and you’ll also be working with colleagues in Berlin, India, China and New York.

The Role
Springer Nature was formed from the merger of two large scientific publishers: Springer and Nature, each encompassing several other brands. After our merger, the structure, definition and role of our brand portfolio has been in a fluid state. This is especially true of our digital products and services.
The overall goal is to lead on defining and implementing a strategy for our digital identity across all our products and services that is aligned to the overall brand strategy defined by the business, as well as inform high-level brand decisions when gaps are identified. This will be done in collaboration with our marketing and external communications stakeholders, as well as with the different publishing groups.
You will work across multiple brands and imprints and support multiple product teams to ensure our digital identities are consistent and coherent.
What you’ll be doing
Within 3 months
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders in Branding, Marketing and Product
• Map out the digital brand hierarchy across the different publisher brands and imprints
• Identify where we can better collaborate on design across different product teams
• Develop a relationship with the Front End discipline to align thinking around the design workflow
• Offer insights into the creation of Living Design Systems for the different imprints/brands
Within 12 months
• Develop and begin to implement a strategy for making our digital identities work across our product portfolio
• Develop a map of the the user journeys across the different brands, identifying risks and opportunities from a customer engagement perspective
• Drive the practical application of user-centred design across the organisation
• Develop strong working relationships with product owners, brand managers, technical teams and our stakeholders across the organisation
• Develop a strategy around how we can achieve consistency of identity across different products within publisher brands and imprints.
• Provide day-to-day delivery support and advice to our designers, to enable effective ways of working with cross discipline teams
• Help to identify where to focus our designers skillsets for career progression
• Help facilitate and build a culture of constructive design critique
• Be part of the UX Leads team that supports the Head of UXD in developing a strong, empowered user experience and design discipline
