Job Summary:
Assist the Corporate Controller in month-end activities, including posting journal entries, account reconciliations and managing KPIs
The company is a Business Unit of iHeart Media Inc., (iHeart Radio and Clear Channel Outdoor) with global Revenue streams from Data Analytics (Media Monitors) and Broadcast workflow/productivity improvement systems (RCS). A market leader in both the verticals, the company seeks to fill the role of Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller in its White Plains, NY location.
Reporting to the corporate Controller, this driven and self-motivated individual will be directing the organization’s accounting and consolidation functions. Manages and reviews the transactional accounting activities of the company and coordinates the international consolidation of more than 20 companies.
The ideal candidate will be seasoned in the areas of General Ledger Accounting and Reporting, process improvement, and mentoring team members.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist the Corporate Controller in month end activities, including posting Journal entries, account reconciliations and managing KPI’s.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment of new revenue sources and initiatives. Understand contract terms and translate them into the appropriate application of US GAAP.
• Manage international reporting and consolidating elimination entries.
• Manage special projects to automate manual processes and improve productivity and provide new reporting tools with focus on KPI’s.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls; document and develop new procedures.
Required Qualifications / Skills: 3-5 years’ experience in Accounting roles, candidates with public accounting experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.
• Sound analytical skills including proficiency in U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) rules and standards.
• Strong computer literacy skills especially with Microsoft Excel & Accounting/Finance software.
• Hands on problem solving skills, with a keen sense for process improvements.
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface at all levels
