Job Description:
This Financial Analyst role will be responsible for preparing relevant financial
reports for Finance and Business use. This will include undertaking Month End
accruals and calculations, financial and operational reporting, as well as ad-hoc
analyses.
Responsibilities
• Manage month end accruals process for business team expenses
• Work with business owners each month-end close to ensure they have the required financial information to calculate expense accruals
• Produce and distribute monthly financial and non-financial information for senior management reporting
• Complete variance analysis on a monthly basis to provide insight into monthly movements
• Update monthly finance forecast templates with financial changes and commentary
• Review and process expense forecast updates from marketing managers each month
• Help to create new operational reporting
• Work on ad-hoc, business-driven analysis projects as require
Key Relationships:
• Planning & Analysis team
• Other Finance teams (Business facing FP&A teams, MIG, Reporting)
• Business managers & leadership team
Skills & Experience
• Intermediate analytical skills and experience
• A desire to learn and progress in Finance
• Ability to extract strategic insights from data outputs
• Experience in the preparation of regular financial reporting
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
• Ability to explain and communicate Finance items to non-Finance business owners
• Attention to detail, data integrity and accuracy
• Ability to learn new systems quickly
• Personality: strong communication skills. pro-active mindset and ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, strong self-review skills, well organized, hard worker and flexible, team player who is achievement oriented
• Experience with subscription-based businesses and/or media companies
• PeopleSoft experience
