The Vice President of Academic Partnerships is a senior leader role within the Pearson Online Learning Services (POLS) organization that reports directly to the SVP of Operations for POLS. This role drives business performance and innovation, creating a culture of accountability for the benefit of our client institutions and the company. This role will manage multiple Partnership Directors, dedicated to specific clients, to develop and implement plans for strategic account management focused on driving client growth. The VP of Academic Partnerships will work in conjunction with senior functional leadership to ensure a strong, collaborative and commercially-focused culture is in place that compliments to goals and mission of our client institutions. This role is responsible for developing the capabilities of direct reports while expanding the company’s strategic alignment with our clients by building and expanding relationships within the executive level leadership (President, Provost) at key institutions.
General Responsibilities
• Foster a success-oriented, customer-service focused accountable environment that achieves and surpasses business goals and client satisfaction
• Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures that drive client growth
• Partner with executive team to establish policies that promote company culture and vision to compliment culture of client institutions
• Oversee operations of key accounts and growth initiatives in account management, business intelligence and technology innovation, providing day-to-day leadership that mirrors the mission and core values of Pearson.
• Develop Partnership Directors’ capabilities in strategic account management
• Help set comprehensive goals for POLS performance and growth; enhance evaluation of performance by analyzing and interpreting data and performance metrics
• Expand the company’s strategic alignment with our clients by building and expanding relationships within the executive level leadership at key institutions
• Work with account management team to forecast opportunities, strategic direction in the POLS market leading to new opportunities for POLS and our clients
• Collaborate with other internal leaders and executive team members to define, actualize and evaluate business model as per strategic goals
Qualifications
• 10+ years of strategic business leadership and P&L experience
• Demonstrated success at developing and implementing integrated strategies and programs which deliver results in alignment with overall business objectives.
• An exceptional relationship builder/influencer with a proven track record of effectively managing a diverse stakeholder group in a complex enterprise and executing on strategies to deliver superior results in both the short and long term
• Strong executive presence, adept at interaction with a diverse group of internal clients along with senior executives of a partner institutions
• Excellent judgement, intellectual ability and leadership skills with high integrity
• Well-developed commercial and business acumen
• Strong consulting skills and experience
• Excellent communication skills for effective contact and presentation with stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills, with a track record of developing actionable recommendations from quantitative data
