Job Description
#BUILTBYGIRLS is building the next wave of leaders for the tech economy. We match young women with young professionals in technology to help them build their first networks, expose them to a variety of options and arm them with practical skills - all to help them get ahead of the game and into their first tech career. We’re looking for a Partnerships and Marketing Manager to join the team as a strategic leader and core contributor to the #BUILTBYGIRLS story as we build the largest connected community of young tech talent in the country. In this role you’ll get to lead strategic growth initiatives, and drive partnerships for our new mobile platform, WAVE; and own marketing and communications across our entire platform including online and offline programs
The Partnerships and Marketing Manager will be a hypothesis-driven strategic thinker, have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, have the ability to get scrappy across a variety of channels and help craft the overall #BBG story. A star candidate will relish the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of a start-up, and have the opportunity to evolve into a business lead influencing the overall strategy of #BUILTBYGIRLS.
The basics. Here’s what you’ll do:
• Dive in to take over top tier partnerships with companies like Spotify, Uber, Snapchat, WeWork, GA and Handy to grow out network of Advisors from WAVE.
• Develop a strategic tiered plan for WAVE partnerships, adding new advisors from top tech companies and working with the Programs Manager to leverage existing relationships and complement work on Advisee acquisition
• Develop KPIs and reporting for WAVE partners based on a strong feedback loop
• Work with WAVE Product Manager to scope and develop product features for Partners and Advisors based on data and user feedback
• Build strategy and own budget to implement WAVE Advisor and Advisee growth tactics across new channels including offline events, content marketing, paid social
• Develop Advisor, Partner communications for WAVE and work with Product Manager to define and execute engagement cadence with Advisors
• Develop consistent messaging for all #BUILTBYGIRLS pillars (overarching, Challenge, The Hashtag, Wave) for positioning, AOL/VZ internal purposes and PR
• Own and oversee branding/creative collateral
• Execute activations at marquee events like SXSW and Grace Hopper, and internal AOL/VZ events with #BUILTBYGIRLS Ambassadors
Qualifications
You:
• Track record of driving successful partnerships and/or growth strategies across multiple channels with at least 3 years experience in a tech, digital media, e-commerce start-up; ownership of a growth budget and/or management consulting experience a plus
• Fascinated by how young women think, and creating consumer products they’ll want to use. You just get them
• Get stuff done. You hustle, drive towards action, and don’t wait to be told what to do
• Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get gritty in a small team
• Have strong analytical, organizational and communication skills, both written and oral
• Even if you don’t have a technical background can get up to speed to talk tech with advisors, partners and the girls on our platform
• Are passionate about rethinking the paradigm of mentorship and building a new network in tech
