Every day, around the globe, our imprints, books, journals and resources reach millions of people, helping researchers and scientists to discover, students to learn and professionals to achieve their goals and ambitions. The company has almost 13,000 staff in over 50 countries.
Nature Research is a flagship portfolio of journals, products and services including Nature and the Nature-branded journals, dedicated to serving the scientific community.
Scientific Reports is a primary research journal from the publishers of Nature, covering all areas of the natural and clinical sciences. Online and open access, Scientific Reports publishes a high volume of scientifically valid, original research papers, without barriers to access. With the support of external Editorial Board Members, papers are rapidly peer reviewed to ensure they are technically sound. As a Deputy Managing Editor, you will support the Managing Editor of Scientific Reports (who is based in London) in overseeing the Editorial Board and editorial decision-making processes across the journal, making editorial decisions for specific cases and manuscripts as required, and supporting the editorial workflow and peer-review process. You will support the journal in building relationships with our Editorial Board and the wider scientific community. You will also have the opportunity to develop line management responsibility for an Associate Editor. Key performance indicators include rapid publication, sound peer-review practices, and high levels of service to staff, authors and Editorial Board Members (EBMs). This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody to progress their editorial career on a high-profile, fast-paced, multidisciplinary journal.
