Pearson VUE is currently seeking an Editorial Assistant in the Content Development Department.
The Editorial Assistant will support Content Developers and team in the performance of their duties in creating and maintaining exam question databases, preparing for content development meetings, creating and publishing exams, and the collecting and reporting of data related to the team's activities.
The primary responsibility is the timely completion of detailed quality control tasks for ensuring that exams deployed to the field meet content and functionality specifications and are error-free. Quality control tasks include but are not limited to: review computer-based exams for consistency with source files; documenting and escalating deviations in exams according to established protocols; running full end-to-end quality checks of exams with Pearson VUE's proprietary software.
Editorial Assistants also perform a variety of tasks with respect to ensuring the integrity of exam question metadata. Demonstrated strength with sustained detail oriented tasks is required. Flexible when responding to multiple work requests and the ability to work closely with a team to prioritize work and meet deadlines is extremely desirable.
The Editorial Assistant will work in a high-caliber, team-oriented environment. The position works a traditional daily schedule but allows for some flexibility with core hours.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform established quality control tasks in support of timely publication of exams.
Perform database maintenance, data entry, and referencing tasks.
Perform administrative tasks including monitoring & ordering office supplies stock, processing expense reports and purchase orders, and completing light clerical tasks.
Proofread content in various platforms and files, i.e., database system, word documents, EXCEL documents.
Support content development team in meeting preparation and follow-up, including data entry and submission of expense reports.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years professional office work experience preferred.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Organizational ability, initiative, and attention to detail.
• Proofreading and troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a demanding, goal-oriented environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Flexibility related to workflow and changing priorities.
• Ability to maintain data confidentiality and security.
• Ability to use office appliances such as photocopier, printers, etc.
• Intermediate skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Applications and ability to learn and use Pearson-specific applications or Pearson proprietary software.
