Overview
Content Distribution is searching for a dynamic finance leader who will play a business-critical role in financial planning, analysis, budgeting and forecasting, providing financial oversight and driving financial performance for NBCUs Regional Sports Networks (“RSN”) portfolio. This individual will join an outstanding team of executives, working cross-functionally with sales, pricing, legal and the networks, and particularly with the CFO and VP of Strategy.
Responsibilities
Lead monthly and quarterly financial analysis, variances and forecasting activities and present regular updates to divisional and regional senior management.
Coordinate key NBCUniversal and Comcast planning cycles – Budget and Long Range Plan (LRP)
Find, evaluate, and report on risks and opportunities to the company’s goals and commitments.
Maintain keen awareness of cable industry dynamics to provide macro points of view and the creative/critical thinking required to formulate positions.
Serve as brand ambassador between Content Distribution and RSN Group driving transparency across teams and supporting distribution growth initiatives.
Evaluate value of rights and ability to monetize. Present strategic and financial plans to the distribution sales team and its internal counterparts to inform decision making.
Support other network initiatives, which may include strategic planning, valuations, content acquisition analysis, and other ad hoc projects.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance; MBA or CPA preferred.
7 -10 years of experience in financial analysis and modeling for a content deal team, strategy or business development group, highly desired.
Knowledge of the cable/sports industry a must.
Demonstrated analytical strength and process mindset; ability to identify creative solutions and isolate key issues quickly.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Clearly articulate rationale and support for positions and results.
Strong interpersonal skills; works collaboratively with a diverse team.
Outstanding Excel and PowerPoint skills; Medea affiliate database software knowledge a plus.
