The marketing manager is responsible for the outbound marketing activities of key titles within assigned disciplines. They will craft the messaging and positioning for products. They’ll conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. They are accountable for managing the implementation of all planned activities within budget and time constraints to achieve an annual divisional revenue target. The marketing manager must assist in the creation and development of promotional materials with maximum impact for the K12 market, which includes copywriting and proofreading.
The marketing manager will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the market including students, teachers, principals and other key K12 stakeholders. They will use this knowledge to help inform product development and translate product value into actionable sales tools They must work closely with inventory and customer service to ensure inventory levels are adequately forecasted and maintained and collaborate closely with the product teams in the United States, United Kingdom, Asia and Australia to learn about new product development initiatives and export opportunities.
Qualifications
• Completion of a university degree preferably in business, marketing and/or education
• Five plus years of progressive marketing experience including social media strategy, content marketing and product marketing
• Willingness to travel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented and strong ability to multi-task and work on a cross-functional team
• Adaptable problem-solver and team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently
• Able to work on many projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical, presentation, and time management skills
• Keen interest in product development and product differentiation
• Ability to handle a high volume of work in a short period of time, handle multiple priorities simultaneously and operate in a demanding work environment is important
• Prior experience working in the Canadian K12 space an asset.
