General Summary:
Crackle, Sony Pictures Television’s (SPT) digital network, is looking for a talented Manager of Partnerships and Digital Distribution to lead new business development and partnerships in Latin America spanning technology and new living room partners. This role manages complex and strategic deals to be negotiated and closed. Crackle Latin America consists of an agile team looking for a candidate to who is passionate about technology, entertainment, products, technology, deals and business strategy. We love Business Development “athletes” with backgrounds in mobile, data measurement, platforms, payments and growth.
Managing Crackle Latin America distribution, this position works cross-functionally with the Product operations team, Marketing, Programming and Regional teams, and in coordination with the global Distribution team. The ideal candidate is a product driven, self-starter with deal experience and the ability to build strong partner relationships. In addition, we are looking for an individual with exceptional communication skills, acts like an owner, and has the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The Manager, Partnerships and Business Development/Distribution reports to the Vice President and General Manager of Crackle and works closely with senior executives in providing strategic and analytical guidance to create, identify and drive significant new business opportunities with the goal of increasing audience and revenue. This person must be analytical and thrive in a collaborative environment with the ability to foster strong internal and external business relationships.
Responsibilities:
• Lead new initiatives that are high impact for Crackle
• Work with the GM to identify, develop, negotiate and close strategic business deals with current/new partners and present opportunities to senior management
• Develop the business plan to grow new projects and scale business
• Lead cross functional team to formulate, negotiate and execute key partnership deals
• Build strong relationships with partners’ senior leadership teams
• Collaborate internally with Marketing, Product Operations, Engineering, Global Distribution and other departments to create strategic cross-functional opportunities with partners
• Prepare financial models of such opportunities based on revenues, costs, and ROI and short/long term financial goals
• Drive expansion of existing partnerships in order to grow revenue streams and expand within the Latin America region
• Lead reporting and data analysis to analyze partner performance and to optimize marketing, content and product offerings and present actionable insights based on partner support, internal performance and competitive position
• Identify key opportunities based on “deep dives” into product and marketing performance, analyzing user behavior, developing insights, and making recommendations against these insights
• Provide distribution updates on a monthly or quarterly basis
• Research trends in digital media use knowledge to recommend business initiatives
Requirements:
The Manager is a person who is deeply connected to the world of Tech media; a person who understands consumer behavior (data driven) and evolving trends with respect to video consumption on traditional platforms (e.g., linear TV) and emerging platforms and devices (Desktop, Mobile, Connected TV, Game Console..etc.).
• 2+ years in business development at start-ups or large consumer Internet / technology companies
• 2+ years of negotiation experience, including legal aspects of negotiations
• Highly strategic and capable of driving internal stakeholders to a consensus on important issues
• Experience and desire to be in a fast-paced, always-on, highly ambiguous entrepreneurial environment
• Knowledge of online business models and Internet consumer technology
• Proven track record with high standards of professionalism
• Professional demeanor and ability to present in front of senior management
• Experience developing strong internal and external working relationships
• Creative, resourceful, detail-oriented, highly organized
• Proven analytical and modeling skills and experience in delivering data insights
• Deep and current understanding of the digital and traditional media landscape, including the product, technology and device offering, and an associated network of contacts across the industry
• Prior experience working in a high-growth or start-up technology company preferred
Education:BA/BS required, MBA/JD preferred.
