Responsibilities
The heart of DreamWorks Animation is the love of telling great stories that inspire audiences to dream and laugh together, pushing the boundaries of creativity. Our team includes passionate artists who love storytelling and filmmaking.
DreamWorks Feature Animation is excited to be offering a Summer Talent Development Program within the Feature Story Department. This program offers an exciting opportunity for selected artists to gain valuable “hands on“ experience and exposure to the unique feature production environment. Mentored by key leadership within the story team, successful candidates will build upon established skillsets through targeted projects, artist feedback, and collaboration with key production departments.
Program details:
Paid, full-time (40 hour work week)
12 weeks
Candidate must be available during one of the following program dates:
Group 1: starts Tuesday, May 30
Group 2: starts Monday, June 12

Application Requirement:
Whether you're fresh out of school or simply looking to jump into the visual storytelling experience, whatever your area of study, you must be dedicated, resourceful, an excellent communicator, a strong visual storyteller and a team player. The innovators and creative thinkers at our studio are also not afraid to be unique. In fact, we’re all characters around here -- both onscreen and off!
Portfolio Guidelines:
An ideal portfolio will showcase strong draftsmanship, understanding of cinematography and narrative staging in a variety of styles and range of work. Include Storyboard samples, thumbnails and character exploration sketches. Also include life drawings, character moments and designs.
In addition, demonstrating one or several of the following will really help your portfolio stand out:
Storyboard samples that demonstrate your ability in any of the following areas: drama, comedy or action,
Strong understanding of acting and entertainment value
Ability to draw loose and roughly yet with clarity
Most importantly! include a link to your website and/or demo reel video links.
