DESCRIPTION:
CBS Local Digital Media is seeking an Associate Producer, Sports & Games to join a dynamic team, creating content and working with local television and radio digital properties (web, mobile, texting, etc).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Work on both local and national digital sports initiatives
-Lead sports-specific content projects from ideation to publish
-Assist in general sports production including editorial timelines and calendars
-Manage and assign deadlines for writers/bloggers
-Copy edit and write articles
-Work with sales teams to come up with custom sports content
-Grow relationships with content partners
-Management of contesting platforms including Pro Football and College Basketball interactive games
-Publishes updates to CBS Local’s national sports social media platforms
-Uses data to inform on content and social media success
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
1-3+ years digital experience focused on sports and/or with a linear broadcast/cable channel
-Bachelor’s degree required
-Able to work off hours (potential mornings/nights and or weekends)
-Strong writing skills related to sports (both news and the lighter side of sports)
-Experience creating editorial content, including editing, quality assurance and proofreading
-Able to create relationships within the sports industry
-Ability to work well with others including senior management
-Strong strategic and marketing skills
-Excellent interpersonal verbal/written communication skills
-Ability to work as part of a team in a multi-media environment
-Computer savvy - you will be posting content as well as writing it
-Self-motivated, positive and collaborative attitude
-Fluency in Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Microsoft Office, Mac/PC software, and web/new media technology. Familiarity with video and audio production, Slack, Wordpress, Photoshop, Flash, HTML a plus
-Passion for the sports industry a plus
