Summary:
The Global Operations Program Management team is responsible for delivering transformative projects and programs across the Global Operations pillars: Supply Chain, Customer Support, Commercial Operations, Procurement and Property & Facilities.
The Sr. Project Manager, Global Operations will support project sponsors (and program directors) across a range of business functions to include supply chain, customer support, commercial operations, procurement and property & facilities. Projects will align to Pearson’s strategic objectives and will involve significant process transformation and change.
Under general supervision of either a Portfolio Manager or a Program Director, the Sr. Project Manager, Global Operations will lead and direct multiple projects or one larger project.
Responsibilities:
The Sr. Project Manager, Global Operations has responsibility for all aspects of the project management over the entire life (initiate, plan, execute, control, close) of a project. Specific responsibilities include:
• Manage all aspects of end-to-end project management including, but not limited to:
◦ Understand detailed stakeholder requirements, constraints, and assumptions in order to establish the project plan, project charter and project deliverables.
◦ Conduct a kick-off meeting with all key stakeholders in order to review the overall project plan and gain consensus.
◦ Execute the tasks as defined in the project plan in order to achieve the project goals.
◦ Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs
◦ Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
◦ Conduct project close meeting, capture lessons learned and archive for future projects.
• Communicate with the Portfolio Lead, Program Director, or Program/Project Sponsor regarding status of specific projects
• Support Program Director or Portfolio lead with project/initiative status reporting.
• Assist with other ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years project management and/or business process experience.
• Subject matter expertise in at least one of the Global Operations pillars (supply chain, customer support, commercial operations, procurement and property & facilities).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and change management experience.
• Ability to build project plans and monitor/report on project status.
• Knowledge and competency in business processing mapping and documentation.
• Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
Additional Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
• PMI Certification a plus
• MBA a plus
• Ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed (5-10%)
