Role Purpose:
The Media Quality Operator is responsible for managing the day to day processes associated with archiving, restoring, researching and general file/data management within the Digital Vault.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Receive, archive and track digital content from internal departments and vendors.
Archive, restore and purge files in a timely fashion to support the needs of the business.
Perform all administrative functions required to successfully archive validated digital content to the Digital Vault.
Receive and catalogue digital content from 3rd party vendors. Manage the tracking of all hard drives to and from the vendors.
Perform file and metadata validation of content received for archive and perform basic QC of file and metadata using tools such as Clipster, Premiere, Harris, etc.
Oversee high volume of restore requests from client within designated SLA.
Manage the day to day migration of digital files into the Digital Vault.
Manage special file and metadata clean-up projects.
Create and update asset records in specified archive management systems.
Monitor archive systems and workflows to ensure quality and throughput.
Serve as a key knowledge resource for answering customer questions and resolving issues about file archives, restores, and metadata.
Responsible for metadata and file change requests.
Maintain weekly metrics and reports about status projects and daily operations work.
Participate in metadata committee and DAISY enhancement and production support issues.
Conduct regular metadata audits
Work with content owners and content users in the definition, testing, training and implementation of metadata additions, changes and enhancements.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience in entertainment asset digital storage and preservation
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working with digital file storage and movement
Solid understanding of the creation, maintenance and long-term preservation of digital file assets
Knowledge in working with Microsoft Office suite of applications, database applications, and inventory management applications
