Job Description
Ubisoft Motion Pictures is looking for a Director of Development for Scripted Television. The Director of Development will report to the VP of Television and will oversee development and production, from conception to delivery, while maintaining Ubisoft’s brand and integrity.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide creative guidance and feedback on film and TV projects.
• Supervise development and production at all stages as assigned. Review and approve concepts, outlines, scripts, rough cuts, etc.
• Create all necessary development materials including including, but not limited to: project briefs, treatments, decks and budgets.
• Participate in presentations for prospective projects, listen to pitches and attend creative meetings.
• Write treatments for a variety of different formats and genres on incoming material
• Hear pitches, participate in notes calls attend creative and general meetings.
• Drive concept generation and trend spotting.
• Draft talent lists, well-versed in A-list and up and coming talent.
• Identify industry trends and understand the competitive entertainment marketplace.
• Build and maintain relationships with talent, agents, managers, studios, networks, etc.
• Monitor the deal making process. Knowledge of deal structure, rights, options, and talent negotiation a plus.
• Liaise with marketing and physical production departments. Review marketing materials to ensure adherence to creative direction of projects.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Film & TV or related field
• 5-8 years’ experience in scripted TV and/or film development.
• Passion for and strong knowledge of the TV industry
• Experience packaging film/TV projects, generating talent lists, and tracking specs and IP.
• Experience collaborating with creative contributors.
• Strong writing and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and collaborate with a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented.
• Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, under deadline.
• Have existing relationships with agencies, managers, and talent.
• Positive attitude, problem-solver.
