Job Title
HR Manager
The HR Manager partners with the National Media Group (NMG) and Corporate HR teams, as well as the Digital management team to plan, develop, direct and implement location specific HR strategies, programs and services in support of business goals and objectives; as well as manages all aspects of the HR function, and serves as a resource for employees and managers. This is a "hands on", detail oriented HR position that incorporates both the creation and deployment of strategic initiatives, along with day to day HR activities and deliverables. Primary customers are the President Meredith Digital, Digital business department heads and line managers, and Seattle based employees.
Essential Job Functions

Working with our in-house recruiter, identify and implement strategies to attract and acquire best-in-class talent, including assimilation and on boarding of new employees.

Partnering with business leaders, create strategies to develop and retain top talent, including optimizing performance, coaching, succession planning, employee relations, and managing day to day situations and issues.

Implement and manage corporate-driven, NMG specific, and local Seattle based programs and policies to optimize operating performance, training/career development, and culture/morale.

Manage and actively participate in all aspects of HR operations including headcount management, immigration, legal and employment issues, compensation management, benefits/FMLA, etc.

Manage and develop an HR Business Partner responsible for local HR administration and operations; including day to day Workday administration/processing; serving as first point of contact internally and externally; org chart management; Wellness liaison; and other HR programs/activities as assigned.

Build relationships and partner as required with internal peers in HR, Finance, Communications, Legal, and Management.
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education:
A 4-year degree in HR or related field is preferred.
Experience:
At least 5 years of exempt level Generalist HR experience preferably in the Media and/or Tech space.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent attention to detail and proven project management skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with shifting priorities and ambiguity
• Comfortable working in a matrixed organization and partnering with peers and management across the enterprise.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong facilitation/presentation abilities.
• Experience with HR Systems. Workday is preferable, but other web-based HR systems knowledge will be considered
• Professionally assertive and able to influence change
• Ruthless prioritization skills
• Ability to act and make decisions independently but also a team player who knows when to leverage the advice and assistance of others
• Proven ability to partner with HR team and senior management to successfully deliver on objectives
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
• Able to work in a fast-paced, technologically progressive culture with an ability to use a variety of software applications.
• High level of demonstrated expertise and understanding of employment laws and regulations.
