Job Summary
The Senior Director, Business Process Controls is responsible for the development and delivery of business process improvement projects to drive enhancements and reduce cost and complexity across Horizon Media, Inc. This position will interact with HMI senior leadership and subject matter experts to develop solutions that improve process performance by increasing productivity and efficiency. The position also supports our compliance objectives and executes tasks that ensure our control environment remains strong.
Duties and Responsibilities
50% Lead process re-design efforts across major processes/businesses/functions, including:
◦ Documentation of current and future state business processes (narratives and/or process flows) via discussion and interaction with the business
◦ Analyze business processes by performing end to end reviews and identifying gaps
◦ Identify operational risk exposures and evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation
◦ Development of recommendations jointly with management (recommendations should focus on consistency, efficiency, controls, metrics/monitoring mechanisms, and best practices)
◦ Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.
◦ Provide guidance to the various process owners, acting as subject matter expert on control related matters
◦ Follow-up and support to the business as needed to ensure implementation plans are executed
◦ Evaluate the adequacy of existing financial and operational procedures and controls
◦ Project Management (development of project plans, status meetings, project reporting, etc.)
◦ Integral team member on the implementation of rollout of process improvement initiatives, including deployment of new media planning tool
20% Provide thought leadership
◦ Proactively identify opportunities to optimize/leverage Sales / Billing system
◦ Proactively identify process improvements across all significant processes
◦ Identify reporting tools to assist with performance measures including creating performance metrics and data analytics metrics to help drive identification of areas warranting process improvements
◦ Optimize resource management and help automate operational processes where possible
30% Other
◦ Serve as key liaison on media agency audit
◦ Perform and supervise media audits by HMI clients
◦ Develop audit plan & methodology for the testing of HMI media service offering including media planning & buying, vendor payment & reconciliation, proof of performance & post-buy reporting
◦ Responsible for evaluating audit results, reporting audit findings to management and developing remediation plans
◦ Ensure that remedial action plans are implemented by management to resolve reported findings via follow up reviews.
◦ Perform ad-hoc compliance initiative projects as requested by management
◦ Assist in annual transparency audit with external auditors
◦ Provide day-to-day operational controls management

Knowledge and Skills Required
• BA/BS from accredited school required
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in Advertising / Media Agency
• Minimum of 7+ years overall work experience with emphasis on business process controls and media audit
• Strong controls and process improvement experience
• Excellent knowledge of Media planning tools, preferably Strata is required
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Strong numerical, analytical and conceptual thinking skills
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
• A genuine team player, with result oriented spirit working under strict deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to forge good relationships with internal and external clients
• Strong communication skills (speaking and writing)
