Senior Product Manager, The Sun

The Sun Product team are responsible for the digital products, including websites and apps, in The Sun portfolio, which reach millions of people every month in the UK and overseas. Bridging business, editorial, Marketing, UX, commercial and technology, our product managers drive cross-functional teams and/or external development partners forwards to create the best outcomes for our audience and our business.
Role overview:
As a Senior Product Manager you will report to the Group Head of Product, and play a pivotal role in the business, being responsible for the vision, strategy and delivery of your group of digital products within The Sun portfolio. This role will take the lead of our ‘Brand Extensions’, driving digital products to support newspaper promotions and delivering products which support new business opportunities. The senior product manager will work with a mixture of in-house teams and external partners to define, develop and manage the brand extension products.
To be considered, you will need proven experience of delivering end to end digital products from ideation to delivery, and managing them through their product lifecycle. You will undoubtedly have excellent business analysis and organisational skills, ideally with experience of running projects first hand.
You will:
• Work with the Group Head of Product and key stakeholders to translate the business strategy into a product strategy and detailed roadmap,
• Lead the design and development of your suite of digital products,
• Assist the Group Head of Product with opportunity assessment and business cases and help set business goals and success metrics (commercial and experience metrics) to measure your product’s success,
• Lead your product team/s to determine minimum viable product (MVP), and prioritise the roadmap based on business value,
• Provide a clear articulation of the product vision, features and functionality to stakeholders and the wider organisation,
• Understand and synthesise consumer needs from market research, consumer insights, analytics and competitive insights, market potential, trends, problems, and opportunities,
• Identify and measure robust data-driven experience metrics on how product features can directly achieve the product’s strategic goals.
• Work with the design and development teams to deliver the entire product life cycle from strategic experience planning to tactical activities,
• Lead collaboration with creative, user experience, delivery teams to ensure a unified customer experience.
About You
• Have a highly collaborative approach to product development both with business and technical people,
• Be a confident and effective decision-maker,
• Have proven experience of managing and influencing cross-functional groups and driving consensus,
• Have experience in Scrum or other agile approaches,
• It would be an advantage (although not essential) if you have a background in product management for revenue-generating or loyalty products,
