Digital Marketing/Audience Manager, The Sun
What’s my personal contribution?
To manage the audience growth and propositions within The Sun’s print and digital channels, including specific content pillar engagement. To own the planning and implementation of digital marketing and data capture to drive audience growth across all Sun products. To drive new and existing audiences, working closely with the agencies and CRM teams, ensuring growth and engagement targets are met for the brands. To be a key contact for content teams, driving forward content pillars for The Sun through digital planning.
What are my accountabilities?
• Be the driving force of ‘known’ users on The Sun
• Deliver audience growth targets across The Sun platforms, through digital output blending natural traffic and paid audience growth activity where required
• To drive forward content areas that deliver audience engagement pillars
• Support the Editorial teams, working with agency and internal teams to shape the digital engagement programme, and data capture to understand audience
• Through owned, paid & ASO (app-store optimisation) activity deliver audience growth for The Sun’s product suite
• Interpretation of available analytics and insight into customer activities to share with the wider team, understanding audience segments
• Work with the CRM team to create a programme to support repeat visit/dwell amongst The Sun digital audience
• Work with Audience Insight and Analytics & Commercial teams to commercialise The Sun’s digital audiences, converting ‘unknown’ visitors to ‘known’ users
• Manage multiple external agency relationships, working alongside The Sun’s digital and creative teams
• Manage the audience growth budget, alongside the Director of Audience
• Own the partner relationship with all off-platform media (Twitter, F/book, S/chat, etc.)
• Create and manage all digital assets and delivery, alongside the communications team
• To ensure creative wash-ups are complete and presented to teams on a quarterly basis
• Understanding The Sun marketing values, its positioning and key competitive advantages and translate this into meaningful and effective marketing campaigns
• Play a key role in brand innovation, working alongside the promotions and brand teams to hit campaign KPIs
Must haves:
• Experience of all digital channels, and engagement tools to drive audience at scale
• An understanding and experience at using a variety of marketing and communication levers, including direct and digital channels
• Preferably a knowledge of and experience in the media industry
• Commercially and organisationally astute
• Experience and proven ability to influence editorial and securing buy-in to integrated product and marketing plans
• A passion for our brands
• First rate communications skills including outstanding ability to brief 3rd party’s and colleagues, PowerPoint and presentational ability
• Good negotiation and relationship skills and an ability to operate within a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders
