The HR Business Partner provides and maintains effective human resources services and programs in employment and staffing, benefits and compensation, training and development, employee relations, and performance and development. The HR Business Partner is responsible for administering all activities, processes, documentation and personnel information in a timely and accurate manner and may be responsible for the work direction of others. The HR Business Partner will work closely with a global team to ensure the effective and global alignment of human resources services and programs.
Coaching and Advising
• Work with managers and senior managers with performance related issues, promotions and restructuring of departments and job responsibilities.
• Conduct analysis of job functions and design of job responsibilities.
• Mentor HR staff
Employee Relations
• Ensure accurate interpretation of policies and procedures.
• Establish and maintain relationships with employees and management.
• As a resource to management and employees, respond to questions, concerns, and issues in an accurate and confidential manner.
• Provide assistance to managers regarding employee relations issues and administration of HR related processes, such as disciplinary action, performance improvement plans and terminations.
Staffing & Recruiting
• Meet staffing needs for general position and temporary position by identification of and effective use of internal and external resources.
• Role may include full cycle recruitment.
Compensation & Benefits
• Provide support and recommendations regarding job and salary changes.
• Ensure overall equity and appropriateness within departments.
• Participate in the administration of salary increase programs including merits, adjustments, and promotions.
• Ensure compliance with all local statutes, including paid time off accruals, carry-over, Minimum Wage, etc...
Communication & Coordination
• Act as liaison between multiple company locations.
• Establish and maintain relationships with company and regional employees.
• Communicate with employees and management staff regarding HR policies and regulations.
Other duties and special project work as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management or a related field
• 2+ years of HR Generalist/Business Partner experience
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate to employees at all levels with tact and diplomacy.
• Must be detail oriented and able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment and demonstrate initiative/results with a customer focused "can do" approach.
• Ability to set high personal goals and work independently
• Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks
• Ability to effectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues
• Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues
• Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, legal and regulatory issues
• Ability to communication via telephone, e-mail, and Google Hangouts
• Experience with MS office suite, Windows applications and data-base management
• Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (Oracle and Taleo preferred)
• Experience with employment law in California strongly preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit, stand and/or/walk for 8 hours/day.
