Position: Master Control Switcher/TV Traffic Coordinator (Freelance)
Location: Dawson Creek, British Columbia
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
CJDC Television is looking for the right individual to support our television operations in Dawson Creek. We are looking for someone who would like to spend their career in this exciting industry, in a critical, multifaceted behind the scenes role. This is a full time freelance position. The right candidate will work in tandem with our team of Switchers, and our TV Traffic Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
Master Control:
• Switch commercials in programming
• Import and monitor commercials in cover-over
• Import and maintain web content when required
• Closed caption all local programming
• Monitor audio and video levels at all times to maintain consistent high quality notifying Supervisor or Engineer of any equipment or technical problems.
• Complete documentation for every shift including the actual airtime for every commercial and program that runs entered in the appropriate position on the log.
• Learn aspects of television and news production techniques
• Be able to work nights and weekends in a high pressure environment
Program & Commercial Scheduling (Traffic):
• Entering programming changes and formats into the television traffic system
• Reconciliation of previous days logs
• Assign cart numbers and entering the traffic instructions
• Input all local, and national contracts and commercials into the system
• Print Confirmations, match & check against orders
• Run Weekly reports and provide to A/R and Managers
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills;
• Be able to work independently with minimal supervision as part of a dynamic television team
• Experience with non-linear editing & Photoshop an asset but not required
• Proficiency in Photoshop an asset but not required
• Ability to calmly manage a deadline driven environment with a full, busy workload
• Proven ability to multitask with accuracy
• Previous experience with Broadview Systems an asset but not required
• Strong references
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
