JOB TITLE: Editor
JOB SUMMARY
As part of a multidisciplinary creative team, the Editor is responsible for assuring that production footage and script is in final format for airing. This includes post-production editing, dubbing and graphics work. It is the job of the Editor to help insure that all spots are professional and consistent with the needs of the client and/or account executives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Perform post-production editing of scripts and footage.
Maintain proactive communication with field producers in order to assure quality commercial productions.
Design graphics through the use of graphic software to compliment the needs of the commmercial spots and customer requests .
Provide dubs for field or other departments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills / Abilities and Knowledge
3-5 years of previous experience in a commerical editing environment is ideal.
1-2 years of experience as a producer or production assistant is beneficial, but not required.
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively. Previous experience working in a fased paced production or creative team is essentital.
Ability to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. related graphic and editing software, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)
Ability to utilize audio/video tapes, editing equipment
Ability to work independently
Ability to work while seated for prolonged periods of time
